I am an attorney licensed in North Carolina and New Mexico, a graduate of Yale Law School, and a military spouse (I am a lot of other things, but they are less relevant to this website).
As a Freelance Attorney, I serve attorneys (and legal organizations) looking to outsource high-quality legal work on a project basis, including legal research, legal writing, editing, and review work.
My clients include solo practitioners, law firms of all sizes, corporate in-house counsel, and nonprofits, and they come to me with projects as varied as they are! Consider me a legal "Jill of all trades," providing flexible solutions for any attorney or organization with project-based legal needs.
PLEASE NOTE: As of January 1, 2013, I am no longer taking new freelance projects. I may, however, be able to direct you to other freelancers who may be available for project work. Please feel free to email me if you'd like me to pass on some resumes / writing samples.
"Creative thinking and excellent legal skills define Celeste Boyd. I retained Celeste to assist with an enormously complex intellectual property contract review. In short order, she took charge of the project, which entailed the organization, review and analysis of more than 5,000 contracts, and produced a product that would have cost five times more and been five time less relevant than if done by a traditional law or auditing firm... it was her creative thinking that made the difference."
C. Todd Navrat
"Celeste Boyd has provided legal research on several cases for me. Her work has allowed me to walk into meetings, settlement conferences, and trial with confidence in the research that was done and no question as to the legal merit of my case. I have used other researchers in the past and Celeste is by far the best."
"Celeste has been a wonderful resource for me. As a small firm we often have to turn to outside sources for legal help when the occasion arises, and for the past year and one half Celeste has been the go-to person. She is conscientious and bright. She writes well and is a quick study in almost any area of the law. I highly recommend her."

“Celeste: your thinking and writing, hard work, conscientiousness and enthusiasm have been valuable to the Center on Law and Poverty. It has been a pleasure to work with you and you have earned our respect.”

“While reading Ms. Boyd's excellent and ample qualifications I noticed she did not mention her work with Project Salute. Project Salute is an organization that helps disabled veterans obtain the much needed compensation they so desperately need in order to obtain medical care and living expenses. As a veteran being helped by Ms. Boyd I wish to thank her on behalf of those of us veterans who are unable to help ourselves. Ms. Boyd is a true humanitarian and someone who has gained the trust and respect of this and many other veterans. God Bless you for all you do.”
